Elcho Black (Big Cardamom)
Black cardamom, also known as hill cardamom or brown cardamom, is a type of spice that is commonly used in Indian, Pakistani, and Middle Eastern cuisine. It is a larger and darker variety of cardamom, with a smoky and earthy flavour that is less sweet than green cardamom. The seeds are typically used as a spice in whole or ground form, while the outer pod is often discarded.
Black cardamom is often used in dishes such as curries, biryanis, and lentil stews, as well as in chai tea and other spiced drinks. It is also commonly used in spice blends such as garam masala.
