Psyllium (Plantago ovata) also commonly known as Dessert Indian Wheat, Isabgol, is paghula a native plant to South and West Asia. A husk of Psyllium seed is derived from the outer layer of the seeds. This husk is a natural source o indigestible fibres water soluble and can absorb up to 20 times water to its weight.
