Top-op Kokum Black also known as Bhirand in Hindi is a dried berry which is used as a souring agent in curries, especially in Assamese cuisine, Goan cuisine and in some parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka in India. Kokum has been an alternative to Tamarind and a cure for upset stomachs and colds.
